Customizable Itinerary

This is a sample itinerary to inspire a personalized trip designed with your travel specialist.

‘The winds of Western Sichuan howl down from the snow-capped peaks, sweeping through the rivers of history and culture,

gently carrying the life stories of the Tibetan people to every traveller who passes by.’

  • In winter, pandas are more active outdoors, and the Shenshuping Base at Wolong China Giant Panda Base is one of the best places to see them—fewer people, more pandas, especially many adorable cubs.

Step into a Tibetan Lama Temple to experience the monks' way of life, as locals lead their horses past the temple gates. This is the spiritual home of the Jiarong Tibetan people.

  • In winter, Shuangqiao Valley transforms into a magical wonderland, offering one of China’s most beautiful snow landscapes. You’ll witness a stunning range of 85 snow-capped peaks and explore alpine lakes that resemble celestial pools. You can choose to hike or take a car for the journey.
At Zhonglu Tibetan Village, receive a traditional khata scarf, drink barley wine with the locals, and sing toasts together.
In Jiaju Tibetan Village, admire clusters of Tibetan houses, stroll through the village, visit temples and ancient watchtowers, and enjoy a distant view of the Dadu River Gorge.

  • Visit the Yuke Grassland, often called the paradise of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and join local lamas in traditional Tibetan Buddhist meditation. Experience the life of the local nomads by riding Tibetan ponies across the vast grasslands, admiring snow-capped mountains, herding, milking yaks, and making yak butter.
In Daofu, explore the "First Tibetan House of Kham" and feel the artistic pinnacle of Tibetan architecture. Visit one of the most traditional homes in the village, where the owner will share stories about the history and artistic details of this unique architectural style.

  • In Bamei, means eight beauties in Chinese — forests, lakes, stone formations, mushrooms, grasslands, springs, mountains, and temples. This place captures much of the beauty found in western Sichuan.
At Moshi Park, admire China's only highland stone forest.
In Balangshengdu Village, enjoy a stunning 360° view of Mount Gongga and Mount Yala.
In Gunong Village, it feels like stepping into a scene from a Miyazaki film—a romantic village nestled beneath snow-capped mountains, surrounded by alpine meadows, glacial lakes, and fields of blooming flowers.

  • Visit Zhonggu Village to soak in a natural hot spring, enjoying the warmth while gazing at the distant snow-covered landscape in winter.

“I never expected a private, customised trip for two to be so affordable! This completely changed my perception of travelling in China. I visited before the pandemic, and the pace was just too fast to truly appreciate anything. But this time, the experience was entirely different. Zicheng, the travel expert, was incredibly professional, and I was amazed at how well-connected he is with the locals. He really took me into the lives of the Tibetan people—something truly unique and unforgettable. A once-in-a-lifetime travel experience!”

‘‘This was my first time trying a fully customized private car tour, and the whole experience was absolutely amazing. What I loved most was the flexibility—everything was tailored to my pace, unlike typical tours. I had the chance to stay two or three days in places that truly captured my interest, allowing me to immerse myself in the local culture and connect with the people. Western Sichuan is truly a magical place, and GoPagoda did a fantastic job in making it all happen!’’

“As an avid outdoors enthusiast, I had no idea the natural beauty of Sichuan was this incredible until I experienced it for myself. The landscapes are just amazing!! It's so diverse, and it deserves way more recognition. I was blown away by Arnold's deep knowledge of Western Sichuan. He recommended us to so many hidden gems, places you can only reach with an off-road vehicle through some seriously rugged terrain, but the views were absolutely breathtaking. GoPagoda has really pioneered a whole new way to travel, and I couldn’t be more impressed!”
