Arnold Zhao, Mount Everest summiteer. Graduated from one of China’s top two universities, Peking University, with dual bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Economics and a master’s degree in Finance. Before founding Gopagoda, he was the youngest Vice President at Source Code Capital, an Venture Capital known for backing companies like ByteDance, Meituan, Li Auto, and Relx. Born in a small city in central China, Lanzhou, Arnold only obtained his first passport in his third year of university. However, he has always been passionate about travel; over the past decade, he has visited 27 countries and climbed ten mountains over 5,000 meters, including Mount Everest.

Dongjie Yang, founder of Acorn International Inc. (ATV@NASDAQ) and a graduate of Peking University, reached the summit of Mount Everest in 2018. He is a national first-class athlete and a recognized National Master Athlete.

Having lived in China for 20 years, Z has developed a deep passion for this incredible country. He has hitchhiked across China twice from its easternmost to westernmost points, driven from Shanghai to Hainan three times, and from Shanghai to Inner Mongolia as well. He is also an avid sailor and mountaineer—recently, he sailed across the Pacific Ocean. He now resides in Western Sichuan, which is his favourite place in China.
